Kirchberg is Kitzbühel’s picturesque sister resort located just 6 kilometres from Kitzbuhel and has excellent access to the same ski area as Kitzbuhel (165 kilometres of piste), good après-ski and all-round better value than Kitzbuhel.
There is an excellent choice of quality hotels and there are two main lifts from Kirchberg into the Kirchberg-Kitzbuhel ski area and also a connection from Kirchberg to the Ski Welt area via Westendorf.

From Kirchberg, the Fleckalmbahn and Pengelstein 2 lifts give direct access to the main ski area with 165 kilometres of piste to explore and terrain to challenge all levels of skiers and snowboarders.
Recent investment in the lift system has dramatically improved efficiency and the state of the art 3S Gondola between Pengelstein and Jochberg now allows skiers and snowboarders to complete the 'Ski Safari' in both directions.
The Ki-West lift from Kirchberg also allows skiers to access the resorts of the Ski Welt via Westendorf and the Kitzbuheler Alpen All-Star pass covers all of these areas plus more.
There is extensive snow-making throughout the area although more snow does fall at a lower altitude in this part of Austria than further west in the Alps.
Kirchberg has its own wide nursery slopes by the Gaisberg and Maierl chairlifts close to the resort centre.
Intermediate skiers and snowboarders will find no shortage of challenges and will relish the prospect of cruising most of the runs during their stay. On powder days, advanced and expert riders should head for the wide open fields of Jochberg and Pass Thurn and the bowls at the back of Pengelstein.
Snowboarders have a great area to explore and the Kitzbuheler Horn has its own fun park with kickers and rails.
Kirchberg has a picturesque, traditional resort centre with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants and a good après-ski scene. Whilst not as lively as nearby Kitzbuhel, the entertainment is less glitzy and better value and, for those seeking the high life, Kitzbuhel is just a short hop away in a local minibus taxi.
Kirchberg offers night skiing, flood-lit tobogganing, bowling and nightclubs and nearby Kitzbuhel has the Aquarena swimming and sauna complex and a casino.
The historic town centre of Kitzbühel is situated 6 kilometres from Kirchberg and offers a beautiful cobbled medieval centre with up-market shops, bars and cafés.
Please note that the resort of Kirchberg is not staffed (Snowscape Resort Managers).
