Centrally located, the 5* Hotel Das Central is Solden’s only 5* Hotel and offers the very best in luxury accommodation, award-winning gourmet cuisine, Spa facilities and Tyrolean hospitality. The hotel is located in the centre of the resort – shops, bars and nightlife all close by - with the nearest ski lift (Gaislachkogl) around 300 metres from the Hotel. The nearest ski bus stop is in front of the Hotel and the Hotel also offers a free shuttle service to and from the main lift stations at Giggijoch and Gaislachkogl.

The hotel is beautifully decorated blending traditional and contemporary design and offers a large reception area, lounge and bar, lifts, hotel restaurant, a la carte restaurant, free WiFi, car parking and ski and boot room.
Wellness and Spa facilities are truly extensive and the Water World Venezia is spread over three floors spanning over 1,500 m2. With a Venice theme including ‘St Mark’s Square’ and featuring pools, 10 saunas and steam rooms, complimentary tea and juice bar, relaxation areas and massages and treatments (local charge) from Wellness experts, the Hotel Central can lay claim to being one of the finest Spa Hotels in Austria.
A fitness room is available and Personal Training can be organised for a local charge.

Rooms
The Hotel Central offers a wide choice of individually-styled rooms all of which are finished to the highest standards. All rooms offer bathrobes and slippers, telephone, safe, hairdryer, free WiFi, a modern, digital TV system, pillow menu and digital Concierge (SuitePad).
Choose from traditional, standard double / Austrian Twin or 2-3 bedded rooms (third image down on right hand side – room type Rotkogl shown) through to a range of Junior Suites (JS Surprise shown - top right image) and contemporary Family and Luxury Suites.
Meals
The Hotel offers award-winning, gourmet cuisine under the guidance of Chef de Cuisine, Gottfried Prantl and the wine cellar is one of the most extensive in the Alps boasting around 30,000 bottles of wine.
Accommodation is on a half board basis and includes a substantial gourmet breakfast featuring the very best of regional, organic produce, a colourful juice bar and selection of breads.
Dinner is five courses with a wide choice of dishes and there is a weekly Gala Dinner featuring a 6-course tasting menu. Guests can also enjoy an Alpine evening at the a la carte gourmet restaurant Otztaler Stube (local supplement €16) or a Fondue evening in the Wine Cellar (local supplement €16).
Location for James Bond’s Spectre, The Ice-Q gourmet temple restaurant at 3,048 metres is part of the same Hotel family and well worth a visit.
Our opinion
This is Solden’s only 5* Hotel and delivers on all fronts. Expect the best in Alpine luxury, service, hospitality and cuisine and the Ice-Q Mountain top restaurant is a must for all foodies.
