The 4* Superior Hotel Sonne is a traditionally styled Hotel with a quiet yet central location just a few minutes walk (around 300 metres) from the centre of Kirchberg. Snow permitting, you can ski back to the door and the hotel has a superb new pool and Wellness area (2021) and a wide choice of room categories.
The nearest lifts (Fleckalmbahn and Maierlbahn) are around 1.5 kilometres from the hotel and the ski bus stops outside the hotel. The Hotel runs a shuttle service to the Maierl Lift in the mornings 0900-1100.
Features
The hotel has 126 rooms in total and features a large reception area, restaurant, dining room, hotel bar, traditional ‘Stuberl’, fitness room and terrace. Free parking outside the hotel, free WiFi.
In September 2021, the Hotel launched its brand new PURE | ALPIN | SPA Wellness area which stretches to over 3,200 m² over 2 floors and includes a 17-metre indoor pool, steam room, saunas and relaxation room. Massages can be booked locally.
Please note that the tourist tax of EURO 2 per person (over 15 years) per night is payable locally.
Rooms
All rooms are ensuite with telephone, cable TV, hairdryer, mini bar and safe.
There are a number of different room categories available from standard comfort ‘Hahnenkamm’ and ‘Kirchberg’ double / quad rooms to ‘Deluxe Superior’ and ‘Rettenstein’ rooms featuring a more modern, alpine design. Single rooms are also available on request.
Meals
Accommodation is on a half board basis: There is an extensive hot and cold breakfast buffet and dinner is five courses with a choice of dishes and daily salad buffet. Christmas and New Year’s Gala Dinners are included.
Our opinion
With the renovation of its Spa & Wellness Area now one of the largest in the region, the 4* Superior Hotel Sonne has added another level of comfort and enjoys a great location close to the resort centre. Snow permitting, it is possible to ski back to the Hotel.
