The hotel is located less than 100 metres from Leogang’s main Gondola, the Asitzbahn. This opens up Leogang’s broad slopes and further connects to the Ski Circus of Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Fieberbrunn-Leogang with its 270 kilometres of piste. The centre of Leogang is a couple of kilometres along the valley and there are a number of other hotels, bars, hire shops and the local ski school based at the main lift and close to the hotel.
Salzburg Airport is around 45 miles (one hour’s transfer), Innsbruck 2 hours, Munich 2.5-3 hours.
Features
The hotel combines the best of traditional and contemporary design with plenty of local ‘Zirben’ Swiss pine timber and local stone used throughout the hotel. The original ‘Steinleo’ part of the hotel retains its traditional features whilst the newly built ‘Holzleo’ features lots of wood in a modern design.
The hotel offers an open reception lobby with open fireplace, reading room with library, bar, café, terrace and four restaurants and dining rooms. The hotel has lifts, a ski and boot room, wine cellar and free WiFi in the lobby and all rooms. There is plenty of free parking outside the hotel and garaged parking (small fee) if required.
Wellness and Spa facilities include a heated outdoor 10 metre pool, steam room, saunas, relaxation area with water beds and conservatory, jacuzzi whirlpool and solarium (local charge). Opening times as advertised locally.
Other recreational facilities include a fitness room, table tennis, table football and a playroom for children. A children’s menu is available.
Lift passes can be purchased at the reception and the local ski school can also be booked at the reception. Hotel guests also enjoy discounted ski hire rates at the local hire shop.
Please note that the local tourist tax of EURO 2.50 per person (aged over 15) per night is not included in our rates and is payable locally.
Rooms
All rooms are non-smoking and offer newly-renovated ensuite facilities (shower/bath, WC) with a balcony or terrace, hairdryer, telephone, radio, Cable TV, safe and free WiFi. Bathrobes are available on request from the reception.
Our rooms are in the ‘Steinleo’ original part of the hotel and include standard double ‘Classic’ rooms and larger 2-4 bedded superior rooms. Room and bathroom pictured are from rooms in the Steinleo original part of the Hotel.
Meals
Accommodation is on a half board basis with an extensive hot and cold breakfast buffet and four-course evening meal with choice of main courses and salad buffet. Weekly starter buffet and weekly dessert buffet. An après-ski snack is included from 3-5pm.
Christmas and New Year’s Eve Gala dinners are included.
Our opinion
Mixing traditional and modern design, the family-run Hotel Salzburgerhof is a superb base for an active holiday with a wealth of facilities where you can expect a genuine and friendly welcome.
With access into Austria’s largest lift-linked ski area offering 270 kilometres of piste, the Hotel and resort are ideal for families and those looking for a big ski area without the price tag and pace of a larger resort.
