Canadian FlagHELISKIING and HELIBOARDING in BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA

Welcome to Snowscape’s Heliski Canada page!

Heliskiing in Canada is at the pinnacle of every skier or snowboarder’s wish list and Snowscape have teamed up with Klondike Heliskiing to offer what is arguably the best heliskiing in British Columbia.

HELISKIING in ATLIN, BC

Atlin, CanadaThe lakeside town of Atlin in North British Columbia is the base for your heliski or heliboard adventure. Kondike Heliskiing’s exclusive permit covers over 5,000 square kilometres (view map) of first class skiing and snowboarding terrain offering everything from steep glaciers and tight couloirs to first class tree skiing.

There are more than 480 descents on offer with up to 2000 metres vertical per descent and, with a maximum total of 30 guests per week, you are guaranteed fresh tracks in this vast area. Skiing is between 300 and 2300 metres so only the scenery and skiing will leave you breathless.

The area is well known for its comfortable, dry, cold climate and excellent snowfall (annual average over 500 inches). Furthermore, with three distinct subzones within the area, the team at Klondike Heliski cherry pick the best terrain for any given weather situation ensuring minimum down days and maximum skiing.

ABOUT KLONDIKE HELISKIING

Under the watchful eye of Austrian Leo Steiner, Klondike Heliski has been operating in Atlin, Canada since 1994. To give you an idea of the scale of the heliski area, Whistler-Blackcomb would fit into the area covered exclusively by Klondike Helisksiing no less than 175 times!

Klondike Heliski is the only Canadian Heliski operator to make use of a fixed wing aircraft to ‘bus’ you around their huge area. The agile 7 seater A-STAR and Bell 407 helicopters do the rest with a maximum of 5 guests to one guide and the whole operation is run to ensure no waiting time for your next lift.

Small groups, efficient helicopter logistics and a personal service sets Klondike Heliskiing apart and whilst one group is being lifted, the other is skiing.

SAFETY and GUIDES

Safety is of paramount importance. You will be equipped with avalanche transceivers and all guests ski with the ABS Avalanche Rucksack (Klondike Heliskiing is the only operation in North America to offer this service). All guides are fully certified to international standards.

The guides have two meetings a day to analyse snow and weather conditions in order to offer you the best heliskiing conditions and have developed a comprehensive snow and safety management system.

Helicopters undergo a daily safety check and Klondike Heliskiing ensures that the highest safety standards in the industry are met.
